Brian has been a commercials director at such companies as Flying FishMr Hyde, Republic Films and The Storyboard. He has worked on campaigns for the likes of ASBHoldenState InsuranceSouth Australia Tourism, Unilever and Kiwibank

Brian's first short film The Hole, which he wrote and directed, won Best Picture at the Drifting Clouds Film Festival and was highly commended at the Cork Film Festival in Ireland. His three short films The HoleOuch and Rock have all sold commercially and were selected and screened at over 75 international film festivals, such as Clermont Ferrand, Busan, Melbourne, Cork and BFI London.

Brian has directed a number of primetime television shows including, Nigel Blows Stuff Up, Mind over MoneyRadar's Chequered Past and The Curious Mind.  

He has feature film projects in development with various production companies supported by the New Zealand Film Commission, either as a writer/director, or writer. One of the projects, Rocking Horse Road, was selected for the prestigious No Borders financing programme at the Independent Film Channel (IFC) film festival in New York.

Brian has written for Robin Murphy Productions, Kingfisher Films, Pukeko Films, Great Southern Television and Long and Short. In 2020 he was awarded a SEED GRANT by NZWG to develop his project NZ Ninja.
